About Selah Shores
When the Mahtanis moved to Clearwater in 2022, the name Selah Shores had to take over, since it is now situated in a water wonderland! Selah Shores serves as a place of connection with Chaplain support and connection to local therapists and psychiatrists, as well as other organizations that provide spiritual and emotional support. It also features Vlogs on YouTube which you can enjoy and be built up in grace and hope.
The word “Selah” means to “pause, reflect and connect” and that is what Selah Shores is all about. Thank you for visiting our site and feel free to keep in touch!

About Jai
From 1986-2010, Jai served in four pastorates, both in Singapore and in the United States. His ministerial and missionary work brought him to preach and teach in many parts of the world. Jai states: “My first love has always been and continues to be to preach the Gospel. I love people, and I am given to hospitality and a deep love and compassion for strangers”.
Due to personal and health reasons, Jai had to leave the ministry in 2010. After working in the insurance industry from 2010-2014, Jai felt the Lord’s call upon his life to return to full-time ministry, this time as a Chaplain. After completing his 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education, Jai joined InFaith as a Healthcare Chaplain. InFaith is a national endorsing body for military and hospital chaplains and is recognized by ACPC for board certification. Jai started his chaplaincy work at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He then moved on to be a hospice Chaplain at Spectrum Health, also in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Recently, in 2022, Jai joined Accentcare Hospice & Palliative Care in Tampa, Florida.
Continuing in his call and desire to preach the Gospel, Jai also had the opportunity to renew his ordination through InFaith at Day Bible Chapel in Saranac, MI on August 2, 2020. Jai submitted to an examination and confirmation of his ordination at Day Bible Chapel which was attended by InFaith’s Northeast field director, InFaith’s pastoral missionaries, and the DBC Council.
“The very same moment I put my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ I knew God was calling me to serve Him in reaching the nations with the Gospel of Grace. The first congregation I served was made up mostly of young Buddhist, Taoist, and Hindu converts, who are now Christian parents and grandparents raising their own children and grandchildren in the faith”, Jai stated at his reconfirmation in ministry.
Jai has been married to his gracious and faithful wife, Esther, for 40 years. They were both born and raised on the island of Singapore. They grew up as Hindu and Buddhist until their conversion to Christ in their teenage years. Jai and Esther have eight grown children, with six now married. They have twenty grandchildren with Chinese, Indian, Dutch, South African, and other Caucasian heritages. Jai and Esther say: “God is reaching the nations in our own family, and we feel very, very blessed. I used to preach to the living, and now I have the privilege to minister to the dying.”
